Although I haven't been officially invited or recognized by this blogger, I have decided to appoint myself a member of The Nester's 31 Dayers. The idea is to spend 31 complete days blogging about the same topic. One post per day - no excuses! (So you guys are going to have to hold me accountable.) Since this month is JAM PACKED with craziness that I definitely want to document, this challenge could not have come at a better time in my life. I present to you my 31 Days:
I'm going to spend the next 31 Days bringing myself to the happiest place I've ever been. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. I want to spend this month finding my center on all different levels. I want to clear my mind, body, and soul. I need this, and I'd love for you all to be a part of my journey!
Let's get started, shall we?
About two weeks ago I went for my first ever SoulCycle class. It was one of the most difficult things I've ever done, but it was also one of the most rewarding. My hangover (because going to a spin class after a night of partying is just so typically me) was gone and I probably expelled several gallons of sweat over the course of 40 minutes.
What I found to be better than the physical work out, though, was how focused I was on it. Somehow when I was in that little room on that incredibly uncomfortable bike all my problems in the world disappeared. All I could think about was the fantastic burning sensation in my legs and the challenge ahead of getting through the class.
I find this happening a lot, and it's a great feeling. When I get in the zone and find my stride in whatever task I'm doing - whether it's writing, cleaning, working out, or whatever - I seem to almost black out. I become completely oblivious to everything and everyone around me. The hours literally fly by me and I find myself coming out on the other end not really knowing how the day is over. It's a wonderful feeling to have rediscovered my focus and my ability to get shit done.
I'll definitely be going back for another SoulCycle class sometime this month, and I'll be sure to report back to you all on how the second time around treats me.
In the mean time, I'm using my focus and motivation to power through this month of networking, job hunting, company building, self improvement, social butterflying, birthdays galore, decorating, finding my center, and a plethora of other opportunities!
If any of you want to join me in this adventure feel free to post a comment with a link to your blog so I can read and support you too!
Sending lots of love,
