Happy New Year!

Hello friends and welcome to 2012! OK, so I completely failed on the last couple editions of Friday Favorites. My deepest apologies, but between picking up extra shifts at the pub and getting ready for my holiday vacation and then actually being on vacation, I didn't exactly have time to sit down and write a lengthy post. And we all know how much I love to write in detail about anything and everything I'm up to. That being said, grab a snack and get cozy... this post is going to cover a lot of ground. Enjoy!

Right after my last post, I had the pleasure of going for another Giants game. This time with my little brother and my adopted siblings, Sachin and Nisha. Many thanks to Nisha for getting the tickets!! Unfortunately we lost (miserably) but the bonding time was much appreciated. Thankfully, on Christmas Eve the Giants kicked serious bum against the Jets - what a fantastic game! WE'RE IN THE PLAYOFFS BABY! Stoked for the first playoff game this weekend. So stoked, in fact, that I'm finding it hard to contain myself.

Of course, losing the game that I went to wasn't bad enough - my iPhone happened to randomly die that day too. Le sigh. And my warranty was expired. Double le sigh. I was forced into going to the Apple store and approaching the genius bar (which I totally expected to be EXACTLY like what South Park told me it should be like) and paying $150 for a new iPhone 4. Triple le sigh. I was also thoroughly disappointed with the genius bar. There was no Touran Rah ritual. Quadruple le sigh?

But then I worked my butt off for a week at the pub and then I saw my bestie Nat for a few hours and then I was OFF LIKE A PROM DRESS! On my way to Montego Bay, Jamaica. One week of sun and fun and zip lining and scuba diving and tanning and a whole lot of drinking and even more eating (ohmahgawd so much jerk chicken/beef/shrimp/LOBSTER nom nom nom nom). Big shout outs to everyone at the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall Hotel. And a SPECIAL shout out to the best bartender in the world, Morris Day. Thanks for all the vodka pineapples, oatmeal cookies, frozen mojitos, miami vices, mudslides and pink nipples. ESPECIALLY the pink nipples.

Here are a few photos from my trip:

Oh man. What a fantastic trip. I wish I had burned my passport and never left. But I did. And I came back to frigid New York on New Year's Day. OH and I cannot forget to mention that while we were waiting for our flight to board from Montego Bay to JFK, we had lunch at the Jamaican Bobsled Team Cafe at the airport. Yes. That really happened. They have Cool Runnings playing on repeat all day long. JAMAICA WE HAVE A BOBSLED TEAM.

And since I've been back I've been working hard and getting my life together. Next week my best bear Hillary arrives from Miami and next weekend is my 22nd birthday. Holy crap that makes me feel old. I'm pretty excited, though. Next weekend me and my lady friends are having a fake bachelorette party (because we can) and then I'm celebrating my birfday with 20-30 of my close friends at Dave & Busters. Yeah that's right. I said it. D&B. Never grow up.

I can't believe that it's already the new year. I was writing my checks for rent and utilities the other day (BLARGH BILLS) and I had to write "2012" for the first time. It was really weird. I'm not a believer in New Years resolutions - I've always been more of a believer in making EVERYDAY resolutions. But I am a hardcore reflector. And as I was laying by the pool in Jamaica at the end of 2011 I found myself reflecting a lot on all the wonderful things that happened.

2011 was a year of awesome. For me it marked the end of my college career, a series of fantastic internships, graduation, a chain of learning experiences/part time jobs, moving into Manhattan (squeeee!), freelancing, waitressing, meeting AMAZING new people, etc. etc. It was the beginning of the rest of my life and I am honestly incredibly proud of myself and all my friends for all the wonderful things we accomplished. Kudos, lovelies. Ku. Dos.

I can't even imagine what this year is going to bring, but I'm pretty flippin excited. Even if it is the END OF THE WORLD. (Dun dun dun.... cue scary apocalyptic soundtrack.)

Anyways, I refuse to end on such a morbid note so check out some of these awesome/hilarious videos I've had on replay for the past couple weeks:

So. Yep. That's about all I have to say. Thanks for checking in, guys! Hope that you all are having a fabulous year so far. Next week I will try to post about something a little more thought provoking and definitely check back after NEXT weekend for pictures from the fake bachelorette party and my birthday bash as well as the weekend shenanigans of Bears Attack NYC.
