Since graduation (which was almost a year ago - what the eff?) this is only my second pilgrimage to the holy land, and I'm so happy to say that it still feels like I never left. They say that home is where the heart is. Well, it's quite clear to me that a HUGE chunk of my heart has been locked away in South Florida.
I have been completely overwhelmed these last couple days with hugs, snuggles, giggles, love, heart-to-hearts and just general giddiness.
Yesterday was my best bear's birthday! We had a fantastical day together - being girly, getting our nails done, then shoving our faces with delicious food at Joe's Stone Crab thanks to Mama & Papa Weiss. After dinner we came back to bear's apartment and had friends over for cake. As I was looking around the room I started thinking about how truly blessed I am to have so many amazing, talented, caring and smart friends in my life - not just here in Miami, but all over the world.
There are so many places on this planet that I know I could go and be received with arms wide open - I just want to take a minute and be grateful for that. Grateful for the luck in my life to have traveled so much and met so many fantastic people. Grateful for the opportunity to do and learn new things with strangers that became best friends. Grateful for the fact that I don't just have one place that feels like home, but at least ten places that feel like home.
So here's a big thanks to all the wonderful people in my life for being so damn wonderful. You guys are the reason I smile everyday.
Although my current residence is in Manhattan, my home is ever changing. Home is the place where your loved ones are always stoked to see you.
