We all take life way to seriously. Between going to work, paying the bills, having serious conversations about our lives/futures, cleaning, going to the gym, eating healthy, and what else have you.... sometimes it's important to kick back and enjoy the little things. Like LOLCATs and awkward imagery.
I snapped this gem of a photo at a Pickle Palooza I went to a couple weeks ago because it made me laugh and feel uncomfortable all at the same time.
It's important to have a daily dose of the giggles and it doesn't matter whether you get that dose from having a quick banter with a good friend or looking at hilarious videos at YouTube.... you need it just as much as daily food and water.
Laughter really is the best medicine, and if you don't believe me just think of the last time you had a shitty encounter that was wiped away by a fantastically inappropriate Helen Keller/dead baby joke. One of the greatest compliments I have ever received in my entire life was something along the lines of "Nikki, when I have a shit day I just want to be around you because you make me laugh and the world doesn't seem so bad anymore."
AWESOME. If I can brighten up someone's day just by delivering a few chuckles, I consider that a major win at life. Oh, don't mind me, I'm just sitting over here with my PhD in LOLs from the University of ROFLCOPTER, also known as UROFLCOPTER for short.
So friends, today's advice on the journey to a happy place is to pencil in a snortle or two on every day of your planner. If for nothing else, do it because a smile day keeps the wrinkles away.
