Who Run The World?

Happy International Women's Day! I am so blessed to know so many amazing women. My mom, my grandmothers, my aunts, my lady friends, and my females colleagues are some of the most inspiring people I have ever known. Here's to us, ladies.

Now, no offense to all the gents out there, but I have to take a minute to acknowledge how freaking badass womankind has become. I feel that today in the world there are more women doing more extraordinary things than ever before. I feel like women are the ones pushing us into the future.

Ladies, we are setting the pace, and I just hope that all our male companions can keep up...

My trip to the European Union Commission in Brussels (2009)

In the past year I have surrounded myself with so many talented and driven women! Here's a quick shout out to all my ladies in NYC, all my Blogcadets, and all my HungriesYou guys inspire me every freaking day with your strength and smarts. It is truly an honor to walk alongside so many successful entrepreneurs and self-starters.

What I admire most about my girls is that we don't just have our careers on lock down... Oh no, no, no. Ask any New York girl what her average week is like and I promise you it will include things like going to the gym, cooking healthy meals, meeting up with friends, maintaining a clean household, spending time with a partner, taking a trip somewhere, etc. We've got it all handled, from start to finish.

And we're not scared of ANYTHING. (Except maybe spiders.) Throw us your worst, we'll get it done. Always. Probably using that magic fairy dust every woman receives in the womb.

I have so much respect for the women in history who fought for the rights we have today, and I have even more respect for the women of today for honoring that hard work and continuing to push it further.

So. I raise a digital glass to all the women out there who (in the wise words of Queen Beyonce) are smart enough to make the millions, strong enough to bear the children, then get back to business.

Who are some of the most inspirational women in your life? Drop it all in the comments below!

Proud to be a lady, xx Nikbear
